Bob Carver made his name by duplicating the audio qualities of high end amps in equipment that would sell for a fraction of the cost. He had offered a challenged 2 well known audio magazines: Give me an amp and I’ll duplicate it’s sound without cracking the cover. He successfully duplicated $12,000 amplifiers with equipment he would eventually sell for $600-$1200 and passed blind listening tests by both magazines.

The following Carver amplifiers are for sale

I have a Carver Mag.Field Amp with C1 preamp. Have had them for years and work great. The amp needs new connecters for speaker cables, new internal lights, and I would love for a good tech to inspect and tune it up. Do you do this or know a great tech shop that can?

    Thanks,
    Wayne

The amplifier listing on this page is missing the first amplifier Carver made, the C-500. Not magnetic field. Phase Linear looking, but much better sounding at the top end.

I’m building a pair of simple bookshelf speakers – Consequently, I’m looking for a pair of 2-way 4 ohm crossover to fit my Dynaudio bass speakers & my Rocville speakers to run on my ATC 150 amp. Unfortunately, this appears to be a minefield – any ideas?
