Bob Carver made his name by duplicating the audio qualities of high end amps in equipment that would sell for a fraction of the cost. He had offered a challenged 2 well known audio magazines: Give me an amp and I'll duplicate it's sound without cracking the cover. He successfully duplicated $12,000 amplifiers with equipment he would eventually sell for $600-$1200 and passed blind listening tests by both magazines.

I punched “Carver Audio” Just out of curiosity. 15/20 yr’s ago I used Carver Amps & more because they are/were,the best.No Ads,Info etc.
I had thought they were out of business.My day just got a little better!!!!

I’m writing an article on a big show staged recently in Saudi Arabia and the sound rental company’s gear list includes Carver P42O amps…. I queried the model and they say that they are old amps, but NOT PM-420…. was there ever a P420 power amp by Carver?
I just purchased a used PM 1.5 and it is different then the usual models available. It has two extra knobs for “RMS Output Voltage”. Have you ever seen one of these amps and do you have any information on this different model?

I have a complete matched Carver system used very little. Purchased new in 1990-1991. 48″ oak finish ribbon speakers(silver series?), 100 wattcomponent system including dual cassette, turntable, amplifier, cd player, equalizer, all like new, seldom used.
